ONWARD: Goethe Quotes, part 2

Here are more quotes from the German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. There are so many quotes from Goethe's conversations and writings that we can only include a few of them.  That being said, GOETHE QUOTES ROCK!!!

"We are shaped and fashioned by what we love."

"Hold your powers together for something good and let everything go that is for you without result and is not suited to you."

"You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him."

"There is no past we can bring back by longing for it.  There is only an eternal now that builds and creates out of the past something new and better."

"Difficulties increase the nearer we get to the goal."

"I love those that yearn for the impossible."

"By seeking and blundering we learn."

"Enjoy what you can and endure what you must."

"If you treat an individual as he is, he will remain how he is.  But if you treat him as if he were what he ought to be and could be, he will become what he ought to be and could be."

"Oblivion is full of people who allow the opinions of others to overrule their belief in themselves."
